Club Penguin Operation Blackout - Club Herbert Play

With more and more details developing every day about Operation Blackout, it seems that Herbert is going to try and turn Club Penguin into what he calls, "Club Herbert". I mean, even his twitter handle is @ClubHerbert. It's no wonder why he chose that name! I think it is very obvious that Herbert is trying to send a message that he truly wants to not only get rid of us and our loud parties, but he wants to take over the island. Today on Twitter, he tweeted this picture.
Club Herbert 2012
Apparently, this is the play that will be happening at the stage during Operation Blackout. I guess Herbert will succeed to some extent at this event. Expect to see Herbert walking around the island for this "party" and even handing out his own background. I think it will be really interesting seeing something other than a penguin on the island. This will be the first time ever that this has happened. Remember, we will have a Club Penguin Herbert Tracker for you when he arrives! Make sure to track with us. Leave a comment.

Club Penguin Operation Blackout Trailer

Hey everyone! Today, Club Penguin released a "Save The Island" Club Penguin Blackout trailer on Youtube. I have to be honest. I have been waddling around the island since 2006 and this is one of the coolest things I have ever been apart of. Check out the video.
I think it's obvious that Gary has been kidnapped and it is up to us to save him. So far, this is on par with my Operation Blackout Theory! So, what are your thoughts on the video? Do you like the Operation Blackout theme we have put up on the website? Are you afraid that Herbert will succeed? Let us know in a comment.

Let's Save The Club Penguin Pizza Parlor!

Hey penguins. As you may or may not have known, Club Penguin has changed some rooms in Club Penguin. One of them, happening to be the Pizza Parlor. Although, I do think that the room was in much need of a face lift and I think that the new room looks phenomenal! But, I am not crazy about everything that is going on. I have been playing Club Penguin for over 6 years! Logging onto Club Penguin always reminds me of great times growing up because a lot of the game is still the same as when I first started. But, one thing recently struck a sensitive nerve for me. Club Penguin changed the music located inside of the Pizza Parlor!
Jokes aside, this is a serious concern for me. The continuing growth of Club Penguin is very important and new things are essential, but we are losing all of the preserved history that still remains in Club Penguin! Not much is left except for some of the classic music. The only reason Club Penguin is doing this is because they are trying to appeal to new users and get more members. BUT, if they truly care about US, they will listen to us. They say our voice matters, let them prove it. THIS IS OUR GAME TO PLAY. We can change this and fix this horrible situation. Change the rooms, change our friends list, change how our penguins look on the playercard, but DO NOT change ALL of our music. At least give us the Pizza Parlor music. Is that too much to ask?!
I am very open to change. I just want ONE thing to stay the same. The Pizza Parlor represents a special place in Club Penguin history. It is a place where people go to have fun, hang with friends, and enjoy a slice of pizza. It's soothing yet cozy atmosphere makes it a perfect place to still represent old Club Penguin. And trust me, there is a reason "Old" Club Penguin was so good! I would even go as far as to say that the Pizza Parlor music IS THE CLUB PENGUIN THEME SONG. That song represents Club Penguin in every way possible. Music change is nothing new to me thouh. Club Penguin has changed important music for me all the time and I have gone quietly into the night. Not saying a peep. They have changed the music to Ballistic Biscuit, Bean Counters, got rid of Dance Mix 1 and even the music in my OWN igloo! I have a tradition where I play Christmas music year around in my igloo. When Club Penguin did the big igloo update, that music was removed from my igloo. After 3 years of tradition! So why do I want this so bad? Because, I think it's important to a lot of people! Why don't we just change the room and keep the old music? Music hits a very special sense in every person and I think that music holds a special place in every persons heart. Even more so than "visuals". Music evokes special memories and good times. Let's do the right thing Club Penguin. Let's update things, but let's at least keep the Pizza Parlor music. From all of us in the Club Penguin community, PLEASE! I have been quiet on all other occasions, for this one, I am going to stand up as a whole for the community. We need this!
As you will notice, the Pizza Parlor music is playing right now on the blog and I take pride in that! If Club Penguin continues doing things of this nature, I have to be honest with you, I'm kind of on the verge of quitting. I just want at least a statement from Club Penguin so I know they heard our voice. If they ignore us when there is an obvious demand for the old music, I may have to move on from Club Penguin everyone. I don't want to do it, but I have a feeling they will hear OUR VOICE!
If you would like to help the cause, send an email to Club Penguin telling them you want the old pizza parlor music and why it means so much to you. Also, if you are using Twitter, you can send tweets to Club Penguin, Polo Field and BusinesMoose. Really explain to them how much the old music means to you! Also, put the hashtag #SaveThePizzaParlor at the end of every single tweet you make! Another thing, put this post on your blog. Spread the word! Let's do this for players everywhere. We are the Club Penguin community, and it's time we take a stand! :)

What Does The Future Hold For Club Penguin?

With so many staff members leaving Club Penguin - most notably Billybob and Happy77 - I have some serious concerns for the future of Club Penguin. Many staff members have quit in the past but now a new era is being ushered in on Club Penguin and it couldn't be any more obvious. We have a new owner, Club Penguin is making more use of social media - Twitter, Youtube - and the entire island is about to get an overhaul. Club Penguin really wants to make a point that they are looking towards the future and I'm asking, "why now?" And, if you still have any doubt that a new era is upon us, why do you think a documentary video being made NOW? Why are we making these changes to Club Penguin NOW? Well, I think I know why.
I consider this my rumor mill. Although I can't guarantee this, I'm assuming that a lot of original Club Penguin employees are under some sort of contract with Disney that is expiring at the end of this year. Seeing as though the company was bought in 2007, a 5 year contact consisting of 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012, does not seem that out of line. In the past few years, Disney even shook up a few things to make sure that Lane was completely in charge of all decisions and I'm assuming again, that this change was made in hopes that he would come back and renew his contract. Dont quote me on this though because this could be extremely far fetched and these employees leaving could actually be an extreme coincidence.
But, lets focus on the FACTS. Lane Merrifield is leaving and we now have a new owner in Chris Heatherly. We don't know much about Chris but it's obvious that he wants his presence felt on the island with all of the upcoming and new changes. I think that he knows how important Lane was to our community and he wants to prove to us that he has some great things up his sleeve too!
We also have two (semi new) wonderful moderators and community managers, Polo Field and Businesmoose. With so many new names and staff members, you truly have to consider some of the points I made in this previous post before any of this happened. There really are such thing as "Generations", and we are about to enter generation 3 in Club Penguin.
The only point that I made in the previous article that still scares me, is that generation 2 never "defined" itself. I think that we can all agree that Club Penguin was at its' best between 2005-2008/9. That is what I consider Generation 1. And I use 2009 very loosely. It probably truly ended somewhere in the middle of 2008. But, since Disney acquired Club Penguin in 2007, we can't blame Disney for any of Club Penguin's faults. A team can only put out so many good ideas! That is why I am not freaking out over new staff. Maybe they can bring some fresh new ideas to Club Penguin that the old staff maybe would have never thought of. There is also another stance that you could take. If you think that Club Penguin was so good in Generation 1, then you might believe that only the original staff can make it good again. That's a great point too but I think that we don't have the right to judge the new owner and staff members just yet. If they don't do so well, then we may have some really valid points for bringing back original members of the team. But, don't complain just for the sake of complaining. If you enjoy the new updates, then take them as if the original staff gave them to you!
I have been on the island since 2006 and I can sometimes have some very opinionated views. Although I am not thrilled with Lane Merrifield leaving, and as you can guess, a little sad to see my original rooms go, I am going to keep my mouth closed for at least the next year. After a year of new "management" I will come back with another post on how I think Club Penguin is doing. For now, I am going to enjoy and reminisce with the original Club Penguin rooms for as long as possible. Leave a comment.

Club Penguin New Horizons Documentary 2012

With so many staff members leaving, the Club Penguin team has decided to make a documentary video for Lane Merrifield and all of the other founders & co founders. This video was made by our friend Businesmoose and Polo Field along with other members of the team. Enjoy.
So what do you think of the video? I think that it is extremely inspiring and brings back some great memories. Also, did you notice the new rooms preview at the end of the video?! Check it out! Leave a comment.

Club Penguin Operation Blackout Herbert Login

It seems as if a certain evil Polar Bear has found his way onto the Club Penguin login screen. Although it doesn't seem to be showing up much anymore, this was what I saw when logging onto Club Penguin earlier. What could this mean?
If you visit Herbert's website you will notice that he has updated his look. Some noticeable things are that he seems that he wants to capture Gary and Dot and also he is looking to destroy the Everyday Phoning facility. You see a sticky note on the computer that reads, "Enjoy it before I destroy it". I have a theory that new things might start appearing on the screen every so often.
Obviously, the Club Penguin team is giving us a very short sneak peek for things to come in the month of november. Are you excited for the adventures that Operation Blackout may hold for us? Let me know in a comment what you think is going to happen.

Club Penguin Operation Blackout Sneak Peek

Today, Club Penguin moderator Polo Field posted a very cool sneak peek of the Club Penguin Operation Blackout that is coming to the island next month. This exclusive comes to us via Twitter and I think that it is a very cool message. It looks like a message from Gary! Check it out.
Club Penguin Operation Blackout Cheats
If you ask me, I think that this message is being intercepted as Herbert is breaking into Gary's lab. Gary will be in trouble next month and it will be our job to save him! I feel that Herbert might be wanting to use some of Gary's inventions to assist him with Operation Blackout as well. Also, it may be possible that he is only there to capture Gary! If you checkout ClubHerbert.com, you will see a list of Penguins that Herbert wants to capture next month to succeed with his plan.
Operation Blackout
Our own author Frosty Badge wrote Polo Field on Twitter with a prediction of what this message means and it pretty much confirms my theory above. Check out below what Frosty Badge and Polo Field had to say about Operation Blackout.
Herbert Club Penguin Operation Blackout
So what are your thoughts with Operation Blackout on Club Penguin? I think it is really cool and I am extremely excited to foil Herbert's plans! I am still kind of confused where the Time Travel, that I talk about in this Post, comes into play. Where do you think we will see the Time Travel? Is it being saved for another time? Let me know in a comment! Also, how are you enjoying the Club Penguin Halloween Party? Let me know!

Club Penguin Halloween Party Scavenger Hunt Cheats 2012

Today the Halloween party was released on Club Penguin! The party is really nice and there are many things to do. Anyways, as soon as you log on to Club Penguin, you'll get a message saying that you need to visit Gary's great uncle's mansion.
Now, all you have to do is click 'I dare'. You'll then arrive outside the mansion. The mansion  is really spooky but don't be afraid to take a look inside!
Now go inside the mansion where you'll be in the first room. Right in front of you will be a chest. Click on that and you'll see some black silhouetted keys.  Now, scroll over the left key. Here's what should happen.
If you can't read the riddle, is says:
The first key for the forbidden prize, is hidden right before your eyes...
It actually is right before your eyes. It's directly below the chest. here's the location on Club Penguin.
Now that you've got that, click on the top right 'Key' icon to show your keys etc. You'll see that you've got the first key. Here's the second Key riddle.
If you can't read the second key clue, it reads:
The second key is rather grave. Check the cemetery if you're brave....
Well, isn't that obvious? In order to go to the cemetery, go to the entrance of the Haunted Mansion and enter the left door. When you've gone through the door, go through the graveyard and up towards another room.
When you've gone through there, you'll see a grave on the top left of your screen. Click it twice. The first time you click it, a hand will appear. Once you click it again, you will receive the next key.
Now that you've got the second key, click the top right 'Key' icon again. Here you'll see the next riddle, for the third key.
If you can't read the note, it reads:
The third key's made of rotten fish. A special dish will grant your wish...
Now, in order to get the next key, we need to go back to the entrance. When you're back at the entrance, go through the right door. When you've gone through it, go to the door up in the top right of the room.
When you've gone through that door, you'll see a big plate, or dish in the middle of the bottom right table.
Click this item twice to get the key. So, now that you got the third key, click on the top right 'Key' icon. Here you'll see the new riddle by clicking on the fourth key.
Well, our three keys that we've collected so far are awesome. The fourth key riddle/clue reads:
The fourth key's next, so take a look, your answer lies within a book....
Now, go back to the room we were just in before by going through the door we came from. Don't go as far as the entrance, as our next key is in that purple like room. So, when you're there, you'll see a desk. Just above that desk, there's a book in a glass case.
So, click this twice and the key will be added to your 'Key' inventory. Now, click on the top right icon again. Now that you've done that, you'll see that you have four keys. Scroll over the fifth key.
The final key reads:
The final key to our little game is behind a batty picture frame...
For this one, stay where you are, but just go through the door we came back from. So, into the Dining hall. Then go through the door on the right.
Now you'll be just above the entrance. Go through the statues with axes and go up the staircase to your right.
Now that you've climbed up the staircase, you'll arrive at the loft. Here you'll see a bat-frame.
So, now that you've done that, click on the 'Key' icon located at the top right. Then click 'Un-Lock Trunk'. Now that you've done that, You'll be located to the Mansion. There you'll see the trunk. Click that.
Now that you've clicked the trunk, it'll go blue. Click it one more time and a note will appear. This note will be about 'Ghost Goggles'.
Now click 'Get Goggles'. You'll then get a sign saying 'You have found Ghost Goggles. Would you like to pick them up?'. Click 'Yes!' to this and you'll get them added to your inventory.
Now open up your inventory and go to 'Face Items'. Scroll all the way to the bottom and you'll see them there. Click on them to add them to your penguin.
Now that you've added those, you may be wondering, 'They look cool, but what do they do?'. Well, they make you see Ghosts! Yes, ghosts. Now, exit your inventory and you'll see your vision. You'll also see a few ghosts.
Doesn't that look awesome? Anyways, now that you've got these goggles, go up the stairs into the next room. Now go through the big door in the hallway. This door is only for penguins who have collected the Ghost goggles. So, enter that room.
As soon as you enter it, Gary's uncle Gariwald will give you a background for your hard work. It's very nice and I love it. It's also free.
Now that you've done that, click on the bottom left icon on the screen. This icon is a book. You'll then see some items you can get.
How cool is that? Non-members can get two items, and one is an epic body costume that I must get. Anyways, turn over and there are four more pages. Here they are.

How cool are those items? I think some of the head masks are the coolest. Anyways, what did you think of this party? I loved it and it sure lived up to my expectations. In my opinion, the Halloween party is the best party of them all! Anyways, let us know in a comment what you think! Oh, also, remember to track Gary by clicking here to find all of his latest locations!

Club Penguin Halloween Party Iceberg Trick 2012

If you plan on visiting the Iceberg anytime soon, make sure to bring your hardhat and jackhammer with you. Although you can't tip the iceberg just yet, you can carve a pumpkin. Hey, that's just as good right?! Okay, maybe not, but it is still fun!
Cheats for Club Penguin Halloween Party 2012
Although you do not receive a reward, it is still something cool and fun to do at the Club Penguin Halloween party. To access your jackhammer, you need to put on your hardhat. (Look at Pottupingu wearing the hardhat) After you are wearing the hardhat, you have to take off all of your other items. After you do that, dance. You will now be jackhammering. Carving the pumpkin is a long process so be patient and find the right spots to carve! Leave a comment.

Lane Merrifield (Billybob) Leaves Club Penguin!

Today was a very sad day for penguins everywhere. Club Penguin founder Lane Merrifield, also known as Billybob, announced that he will be stepping down from his role as Club Penguin Owner and staff member of Disney Interactive. Lane will be taking on a new challenge that he calls, "FreshGrade". With FreshGrade, Lane looks to attack the educational market in hopes of helping kids learn and do better in school! That's pretty cool if you ask me!
His retirement was a bit shocking but Lane went about it in a very respectful and appropriate manner. His announcement was made public with a post on the Club Penguin Community Blog and Lane Merrifield also addressed his Club Penguin staff in the following letter..

"To my friends at Disney:
Five years ago our little company joined Disney and I had no idea then what an amazing adventure it would turn out to be. Since that time, I have had the privilege of working alongside and learning from so many of you and the joy of creating great products together. I appreciate the opportunity and the faith this company placed in me and the ways it has allowed me to grow both as a leader and as a person. I am also grateful for the countless memories this company has created for me and my family. Our team has grown Club Penguin from a simple idea to being the largest global virtual world for kids for seven straight years while maintaining a significant profit margin. I am incredibly proud to have been a part of Club Penguin, and I know that it will continue to grow and thrive.
Like many entrepreneurs though, there comes a time when the desire to create something new outweighs the comfort of what’s known and for me that time has come.
Over the past year, I’ve invested in a new educational startup called FreshGrade that focuses on creating mobile cloud-based assessment software for teachers and students and it has reached a place where more of my time is needed. We started Club Penguin in order to enhance our children’s online experience and now I hope to do the same with their educational experience.
Thank you for the role you’ve played in my journey and I truly hope that even though my business card may change, my friendship with so many of you will not.
With gratitude,
Lane"
I, myself, have been around Club Penguin since April of 2006, so I have been around for almost as long as Club Penguin has been operational. I must say that this is a very disappointing day for myself as well because Billybob has been a big part of my life and my Club Penguin journey. He even visits this site from time to time and he has sent me some emails and a package to my house!
As they say, all good things must come to an end but I truly hope that Lane keeps an eye on things even after his departure. And maybe, just maybe, have it in his heart to possibly come back one day! Hey, maybe he'll still send an email or two our way in the future. We'll keep you updated if anything else develops. Last, I'll leave you with an interview Lane did 2 years ago. Enjoy..
From all of us in the Club Penguin community, we thank you Lane for everything you have done for us. You took a dream and made it into a vision that millions upon millions of kids enjoy everyday. We wish you luck with your future projects. We know you can do it! We look forward to seeing you again one day on the snowy island we call Club Penguin!

Club Penguin Field Op #103 Walkthrough

Recently Club Penguin have updated the Field Ops, like every week and are also bringing the Halloween party to the island very soon. This party is the halloween party as it's close to the end of October. Anyway, to start of the new Field Op 102 is out and we want to give you the best walkthrough of it. To start this, you'll notice your Spy Phone is ringing. Pick it up and go to the Elite Command Room.

Here, go up to the Field-Ops board where Gary awaits you. Read his orders.

Well, you heard his orders. He wants us to find some notes in a cabinet. To find this, locate your self to the Boiler Room. When you get there you'll see a Cabinet. Go up towards this.
When you finally locate this, your spy phone will start to ring. So, now pick up your spy phone that is the icon on the bottom left of your screen. You'll now see that you have got to complete a task. The task that is given to you is called 'Lock Detective'.

This task is very simple. All you have to do in order to crack the lock is listen to the tempo of the lock and then repeat it. Make sure that you're precise and you must match each lock twice. When you've completed this task, Gary will send you a message.

This message isn't very important, but it reads.
Eureka! You found my Great Uncle Gariwald's lost laboratory notes. Well done! Hmm... Before he disappeared, it looks like he was investigating paranormal ectoplasmic activity. In other words.... ghosts.
Seems like Ghosts will appear this halloween party, like last year. So, what did you think about this Field-Op, are you anticipating the Halloween Party? Let us know in a comment.
